Addressing homelessness

I believe Every person deserves a safe place to call home. This priority focuses on preventing homelessness, expanding affordable housing options, and connecting individuals and families with the resources they need to achieve long-term stability and independence.

→ Support the development of affordable housing units and programs that help working families, seniors, and individuals secure stable housing.

→ Increase emergency rental assistance, utility assistance, and eviction prevention services to help people stay in their homes before a crisis occurs.

→ Prioritize getting individuals experiencing homelessness into safe, stable housing while connecting them with healthcare, employment, and supportive services.

→ Connect individuals experiencing homelessness with job training, education programs, and employment opportunities that promote long-term self-sufficiency.

→ Focus on affordable housing, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence support, and economic opportunity to reduce homelessness at its source.
→ Increase access to safe shelters and transitional housing programs for individuals, families, veterans, and young adults experiencing homelessness.
